"The REGO market remains quiet"

  • We saw a steady flow of RGGOs traded in September, but prices remained stable as enquiries pretty much matched the certs available for sale.
  • Crop/Product remained at around the £7.50/MWh mark and non-ISCC Waste/Resi at £10.50/MWh give or take.
  • European buyers showed more interest in ISCC volumes but competition from European producers remains strong. Danish and Dutch producers are rumoured to be currently offering large quantities of certificates to the market.
  • The Union Database, which will track the sustainability criteria and PoS (Proof of Sustainability) of Biogases in the EU, is due for launch on 21 November.
  • It remains unclear as to when UK Biogas volumes can be included on the UDB. It could be next year or even 2026, which will likely hamper the export of RGGOs to Europe until it’s resolved.
