European GO and Biomethane – Desk Lead / Trader

We are looking for a motivated self-starter to run a dedicated European Green Desk.
You will join our dynamic team to grow and manage the European origination and trading of Power GOs and Biomethane Certificates. C-Zero already has a strong presence and proven track record in the UK across Carbon, Green Gas and REGO markets. In Europe we currently trade in cross-border Biomethane and GOs but are looking to expand our activity in these markets.
In this role you will play a pivotal role in fostering key relationships, structuring deals and identifying and capitalising on opportunities within the rapidly evolving Carbon, Biomethane and Renewable Power markets.

• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with Renewable GoO Generators and Renewable Gas Suppliers and Consumers across Europe. Identification of opportunities to build structural supply and demand positions in these markets.
• Increasing our exposure and footprint within the European Renewables Market.
• Commercially structure and negotiate terms and transactions and create strategies for the monetisation, optimisation and risk management of these exposures.
• Managing the full lifecycle of deals, from due diligence to execution, and ensure post-contract requirements are met.
• Full input in the future hires of your team and P+L responsibility and reporting.

• 2 years + of relevant experience gained with a Renewable Energy Certificate broker/trader.
• Have a good understanding of the Environmental Products markets that we trade.
• Ability to identify commercial opportunities and develop new business and relationships.
• Ability to develop new business from scratch and generate profitable trades for the company.

• Graduate qualification in business/marketing/sales preferred but not required
• Must speak English, any other European language will be a big plus.
• Can be UK or EU based.
• The role holder will be expected to be flexible in working style, have a strong ethos and work in partnership with other functions, including legal, credit, treasury, and trading to execute origination.
• High level of written and verbal communication skills – ability to manage external and internal stakeholders.
• Personable with effective relationship building skills.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Schedule:

Full Time Mon-Fri. International travel required

Farnham, Surrey / Hybrid / WFH

Salary + Bonus:

• £/€ Negotiable with market leading bonus structure.
